In 1986 the International Labour Conference (ILC) adopted an Amendment to the ILO Constitution to make the ILO’s governance structure fairer and more inclusive. This high-level event is aimed at promoting the 1986 Instrument for the Amendment of the ILO Constitution and is organized following the request formulated by the ILO Governing Body at its&nbsp;353rd Session (March 2025) and reiterated at its 356th Session (March 2026) to have such an event organized in the margins of the International Labour Conference.Interpretation available: English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, German, Russian.

To mark the centenary of the ILO Conference Committee on the Application of Standards (CAS), this high-level side event brings together representatives of government, employers’ and workers’ organizations to reflect on 100 years of tripartite supervision in action.Through concrete national experiences and testimonies, speakers will explore how the CAS, as one of the key&nbsp; pillars of the ILO supervisory system, has contributed to advancing social justice, strengthening democratic resilience, and promoting meaningful change in law, policy and practice across the world.The discussion will highlight the unique value of social dialogue and tripartism in supervising the application of international labour standards, and how the CAS has supported countries throughout their journey towards compliance, helping translate international commitments into concrete progress.Interpretation available: English, French, Spanish

This event commemorates the 2026 World Day Against Child Labour.
