World Day of Social Justice provides an opportunity to reflect on progress and persistent challenges in building more equitable societies.

To commemorate this date, the ILO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean organized a virtual event to launch the book Reflexiones sobre la justicia social y el trabajo en América Latina y el Caribe. (Reflections on Social Justice and Work in Latin America and the Caribbean). The publication brings together contributions from academics and specialists from the region who analyze different dimensions of social justice in the world of work.

During the dialogue, authors and experts addressed issues such as digital transformation and inequalities, migration and inclusion in the labor market, as well as access to labor rights and effective dispute resolution mechanisms. The discussion highlighted the importance of closing the gap between normative commitments and the reality experienced by people, in order to advance towards decent work and social justice in the region.
