The Summit of the Future (22-23 Sep.) will produce an inter-governmentally negotiated, action-oriented Pact for the Future with chapters on Sustainable development and financing for development; International peace and security; Science, technology and innovation and digital cooperation; Youth and future generations; and Transforming global governance.
The Summit of the Future Action Days (20-21 Sep.) will focus on multistakeholder partnerships and action paving a way towards the next chapter of multilateralism that is more inclusive and networked.
With young people at the heart of the discussion, this event brings partners together to explore what changes are needed in education and across society to build the green skills and green jobs to deliver a just and sustainable transition.
Co-organised with UNEP, CYMG and the Government of Cyprus, Portugal, in collaboration with ILO and UNICEF, this side-event will host an intergenerational dialogue between youth, UN leaders, Government ministers and experts in green skills and education. It will explore the intersection of green jobs, education and sustainable lifestyles, highlighting how these elements can converge to create a just and equitable future for all.
Following the opening remarks, the first round of panelists will discuss how to equip future generations with the new skill sets for green jobs and a sustainable future through enhanced collaborative action.
