The gender pay gap: Addressing gender income inequality
Hosted by Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC) with the sponsorship of the governments of Canada, Iceland, Panama, Ukraine and Switzerland, this event will be an opportunity to share best practices and strategies to close the gender pay gap including in times of multiple overlapping crises, explore the potential impact of closing the gender pay gap on addressing women’s poverty and strengthen global, regional and national commitments to pay equity as one of the strategies to reduce poverty, as well as strengthening EPIC membership.

Generative AI and jobs: A global analysis of potential effects on job quantity and quality
This new webinar series “AI & Work”, curated by the International Labour Organization (ILO), kicks off with a presentation of a global ILO study which analyses the potential exposure of occupations and tasks to Generative AI, and the possible implications of such exposure for job quantity and quality. It estimates task-level scores and then models potential employment effects at the global level as well as by country income group, highlighting the profile of those most affected.

Global launch of a new ILO report, which estimates the profits generated from forced labour in the world today. These profits reflect the wages effectively stolen from the pockets of workers by the perpetrators of forced labour through their coercive practices. As this year’s International Women’s Day falls during the 350th session of the Governing Body, the celebration will be joined by the Director-General, GB participants, and ILO colleagues. The reception will start with songs from the ILO choir followed by contributions from the DG and the representatives of 3 constituents.
